Ready for the Fall Festival
Glorawenn

Glorawenn just finished decorating her yard with the Spooky Trees she managed to get from last year's Fall Festival. Now she's ready for this year's event to begin so she can get some decorations for the interior of her house.

The Galadhrim Mount
Winter Winds Steed

Glorawenn just reached Kindred with the Galadhrim faction in Lothlorien, which means she was able to barter for their reputation mount. Although it certainly is a pretty horse, Glorawenn still prefers her palomino...Don't tell Galadriel.

The "Tablecloth" Mount and Cosmetics
Winter Winds Steed

The Farmer's Faire is currently going on in LOTRO. Here is my Hobbit minstrel Calicia on the pony version of this year's Farmer's Fair mount. She is also wearing the matching cloak and mantle. The mounts trappings, as well as the cloak and mantle, are designed to look like a tablecloth. For a lot of characters this appearance would be a bit silly, but a Hobbit, especially a jester-like minstrel such as Calicia, can easily pull it off.

No wonder Lothlorien is called "the Golden Wood".

I'm using this as my desktop. Glorawenn seems to feel quite at home in the Golden Wood.

Being a Mirkwood Elf, Glorawenn normally wears green, but she has created a gold version of her armor while questing in Lothlorien.

Last Year's Farmer's Faire Mount

Since Calcia had not yet been made during last year's Farmer's Faire, she wanted to make sure to get the previous year's festival mount, the Steed of the Yield. It's an adorable pony, and suits her well.

They were tasked by the elves of Lothlorien with discovering what had become of Gandalf after his battle with the Balrog. Calicia was quite distraught when all they could find was Gandalf's hat.

Because the future of some game-worlds are uncertain...

Over the past months I've received a number of inquiries from people who are wondering when or if I will ever add more to my Morrowind story. I've also been asked if I will be doing any more work on my Neverwinter module. The answer to both is yes, but for now my gaming time is being spent with LOTRO because...it's uncertain if that game will be around much longer.

The license which allows Turbine to operate LOTRO is up for renewal at the end of 2016. Rumors abound on the servers and LOTRO forums. Some are saying that the license will be renewed as it always is and the game will continue to operate past 2017. Others are saying that this time it's not going to be renewed and LOTRO will be shut down (No maintenance mode. Just 100% shut down). Those who are saying LOTRO will be shut down vary in their time frame. Some say it will be over in seven months. Some say it will be shut down at the end of 2017. Others say it will be shut down at the end of 2016.

The fact is, no one knows. There's a lot of speculation, but no one truly knows anything except for those within the companies who actually handle the license. I'd give my own opinion on whether I think LOTRO will continue but to be honest I can see it going either way. What I DO know is that my games of Morrowind and Neverwinter are not going anywhere. As long as I am using a computer with an operating system that will run them, I can play Morrowind and Neverwinter whenever I wish. LOTRO on the other hand may very well be going away, and if the doom sayers turn out to be correct, I want to see as much of Middle Earth as I can before the servers are shut down and unplugged. I want my elvish characters to see Lothlorien, and of course their homeland of Mirkwood. I want Glorawenn to make it to Rohan and do the quest to get her warsteed which can be trained for mounted combat, and I want time to actually play with the warsteed before LOTRO's sunset.

Now, if the license is renewed and we're told that LOTRO has life after 2017 I'll go back to rotating through other titles during my gaming time. For now gaming time is just focused on LOTRO. It's a gorgeous, carefully crafted world and more story and roleplay oriented than any other MMO I have tried. I want to enjoy it while it's here. As the saying goes; hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst. In this case, I'm hoping for the license renewal, but preparing for LOTRO's sunset.

Finally Out of the Long Dark
Glorawenn

At long last, the Epic quest-line sent my fellowship out of Moria. Glorawenn, Andranel, and Calicia need to make their way through Lothlorien and try to seek an audience with Galadriel. The Iron Garrison Dwarves who embarked on an expedition to reclaim Moria have found themselves outnumbered by the orcs, goblins, and other evil creatures who seek to keep Khazad-dum for themselves. Therefore they asked the player's help to seek assistance from the elves of Lothlorien.

Unfortunately the direct route out of Mora was not an option. Someone or something broke the Bridge of Khazad-dum.

The group managed to find an alternative path and finally, after months of traveling through the long dark, have stepped out in the sunshine.
